Flow Rate Sensor

Determine a moving bodies flow rate

Use the flow rate sensor to easily measure stream velocity.  Flow rate data can be used to calculate the discharge value for a stream and determine the sediment transport of the stream.

Spectrophotometer/Fluorometer

An Affordable Spectrophotometer and Fluorometer

Having a CCD array spectrophotometer/fluorometer combination is now affordable. Array spectrometer technology allows you to collect a full wavelength spectrum (absorbance, percent transmittance, or intensity) in less than one second. Once the peak wavelength is determined, you can easily determine the concentration of a solution or monitor rates of reaction.

Uses for Forston Labs Spectrophotometer/Fluorometer

  • Measure absorbance, percent transmittance, emissions spectra, or fluorescence
  • Conduct Beer's law investigations
  • Conduct kinetic studies of absorbance vs. time
  • Perform equilibrium studies of absorbance vs. time or absorbance vs. concentration
  • Conduct experiments on enzyme kinetics
  • Perform colorimetric or fluorescent bioassays
  • Measure emissions of gas discharge tubes, flame tests, or other light sources, using the Optical Fiber accessory (sold separately)

Turbidity

Auto-ID Turbidity Sensor

Our new Turbidity Sensor is extremely useful in water quality studies and other processes where the clarity of a solution is to be measured. Its small, sleek design, and simple setup make it easy to use at a water quality study site or back in the lab.  The turbidity sensor connects directly to the LabNavigator and measures turbidity of samples in NTU.

Calibration can be done in about one minute using a high-quality Hach StablCal™ 100 NTU standard (included). Also included is a high-grade glass cuvette for the water sample to be measured.

Colorimeter

One button auto-cal

The 4-wavelength Colorimeter is great for Beer's law experiments, determining the concentration of unknown solutions, or studying changes in concentration vs. time. Our Colorimeter features one-button automatic calibration. Fifteen 3.5 mL cuvettes are included.

Carbon Dioxide Gas Sensor

CO2 gas sensor measures gaseous carbon dioxide

The CO2 gas sensor measures gaseous carbon dioxide in two ranges: 0 to 10,000 pmm and 0 to 100,000 ppm. A chamber with probe attachment is included for running controlled experiments.

With this sensor, you can easily monitor changes in CO2 levels occurring in the air around you, respiration of organisms, or reactions in a chamber. The CO2 Gas Sensor is easily calibrated using a calibration button. A chamber with probe attachment is included for running controlled methods.

Oxygen Gas Sensor

O2 gas sensor measures oxygen concentration in air

Usually leaves our warehouse in 4-7 business days.

The Oxygen gas sensor measures oxygen concentration in air.  The sensor is temperature compensated for use in different environments.

Perform or complement many experiments conducted using the CO2 Gas Sensor.

Temperature compensated for use in different environments.

Includes a 250 mL bottle that can be used for controlled tests

Many of the processes currently performed using the CO2 Gas Sensor can be performed or complemented using the O2 Gas Sensor. Due to its wide measurement range, the O2 Gas Sensor can also be used to monitor oxygen concentration during human respiration.

General Purpose pH Sensor

General Purpose, 12mm, Full Range, Single Junction pH Electrode

Our general purpose, full range pH sensor is an Ag/AgCl single junction electrode.  Includes a convenient soaking bottle and storage solution.  Each electrode is shipped individually calibrated (each sensor has a unique factory slope and intercept).  It is standard good lab practice to calibrate your pH electrode after each storage period, regardless of duration.
